“Dreams of Others” by Aiar Collective and Federico Murgia is a live, brain-controlled multisensory experience. The audience follows a sleeping performer as her brain activity, measured through electroencephalography (EEG), shapes a real-time dreamscape. This brain-driven generative composition translates sleep phases into physical light and soundscapes, creating a dream-dome. The performance explores the role of memories in shaping our identity and perceptions, emphasising the active process of memory consolidation during sleep, particularly in REM sleep. The interplay of lights and sounds mirrors the detected sleep stages, offering an immersive journey into the sleeping mind for the audience.
After the performance the generated dreamscape will be transformed into the exhibition, “Dreams of Others”, an audiovisual light installation.
